What does Diabetic Tussin® do?

It provides relief from cough, congestion, cold, or flu symptoms:

  • Maximum Strength Cough & Chest Congestion DM AND Cough & Chest Congestion DM relieve coughs and sooth throat irritation and chest congestion.
  • Chest Congestion helps loosen phelgm and thin bronchial secretions to rid bronchial passageways of bothersome mucus.
  • Cold & Flu temporarily relieves cold & flu symptoms including minor sore throat, headache, minor aches and pains, muscular aches, fever, runny nose and sneezing.
  • All Diabetic Tussin® items have been specially formulated to avoid certain inactive ingredients, such as sugar and sodium, found in other cough cold products which may pose a risk to you if you are on a restricted diet. Because it is 100% sugar free it should not elevate blood sugar levels.

  • Diabetic Tussin® is specially made for diabetics and pre-diabetics. It should not elevate your blood sugar levels, because as it is 100% free from sugar, fructose, or sorbitol.

Will Diabetic Tussin® interact with any of my medications?

  • Do not use Diabetic Tussin® Maximum Strength Cough & Chest Congestion DM OR Diabetic Tussin® Cold & Flu if you are now taking a prescription monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) (certain drugs for depression, psychiatric or emotional conditions, or Parkinson’s disease), or for 2 weeks after stopping the MAOI drug. If you do not know if your prescription drug contains an MAOI, ask a doctor or pharmacist before taking this product.
  • In addition to the above, do not use Diabetic Tussin® Cold and Flu with any other drug containing acetaminophen or any product containing diphenhydramine, including topicals applied externally to the skin.

  • If pregnant or breast-feeding, ask a health professional before use.

How often should I take Diabetic Tussin® in order to get relief of my symptoms?

  • Diabetic Tussin® Maximum Strength Cough & Chest Congestion DM:
      Take every 4 hours
      Do not exceed 6 doses in 24 hours
      Adults: 10mL (2 teaspoons)
      Children under 12 years: ask a doctor
  • Diabetic Tussin® Cold & Flu:
      Take every 4 hours to 6 hours
      Do not exceed 6 doses in 24 hours
      Adults: 10mL (2 teaspoons)
      Children under 12 years: ask a doctor
  • Diabetic Tussin® Chest Congestion:
      Take every 4 hours
      Do not exceed 6 doses in 24 hours
      Adults: 10mL to 20mL (2 to 4 teaspoons)
      Children under 12 years: ask a doctor
  • Diabetic Tussin® Cough & Chest Congestion DM:
      Take every 4 hours
      Do not exceed 6 doses in 24 hours
      Adults: 10mL (2 teaspoons)
      Children under 12 years of age: ask a doctor

The product name changed and the level of active ingredient looks different. What changed in the formula?

  • No changes have been made to this product. The formulas remain the same.

I noticed the pack says improved berry flavor, does it work the same?

  • The flavor is improved but the active ingredients are the same. Diabetic Tussin® still provides relief from cold and cough symptoms!
